The BBC has collated data on road accidents from 1999 – 2010 and provided a postcode searchable map which details every incident over those years (not solely fatalities) They point out, however, that many incidents go unreported so the figure for casualties is probably much higher. I am probably one of those unreported incidents as I got knocked off my bike in Birmingham city centre a couple of years ago but didn’t report it.

People Killed In Animal Related Traffic Incidents: Germany 2009

This statistic arose from a story about wild boar being on the increase in Germany. Should we ever do an animal based show the number of wild boar shot by humans in 2009 was 447,000. Which makes the ratio approximately 1:16500 in the Human’s favour.
