Ok, so it’s a very obscure one but just found this and thought it might be of interest for you in the US. I enjoy imagining those large groups of thinkers/philosophers/artists all congratulating each other on their marvellous work and then having a good old party! Hard to think of the last American who was honoured in the same way.

  1. Yesterday I learnt that Pele’s real name is Edson Arantes do Nascimento. Apparently he was named after Thomas Edison [clearly a spelling error crept in somewhere).
